Such remarks from industry leaders reflect a disconnect from the realities faced by independent musicians, highlighting the need for platforms that genuinely value and support artists.
In contrast, Bandcamp stands as a beacon for artists like me. This platform allows musicians to sell their work directly to fans, retaining an average of 82% of the revenue. Since its inception, fans have paid artists and their labels over $1.46 billion through Bandcamp. Additionally, Bandcamp offers music in lossless formats, ensuring you receive the highest audio quality while directly supporting the creators you love.
The current trajectory of the music industry often prioritizes profit over artistry, with streaming giants focusing on passive consumption and background listening. This shift not only undervalues the artist's work but also transforms music into a mere commodity.
